Coax vs Componet

Recommended Posts

Greetings, i'm looking at purchasing some new mids/high speakers for my car. i was going to go find the AA componets or get the Infinity Kappa coax's. my question is if i get the kappa's will i regret not buying the AA's? i plan to get 2 pairs of 6x9's (threeway), 1 pair of 3.5's.

now my next question is would it be recommended to get the kappas as well as the componets? like maybe get a set of componets for the doors?

also are the kicker KS's better quality then the kappa's?

You will get a much better answer if you tell us what they are going in, where they will go in said vehicle, what's the rest of your system consist of, will these be running off an amp or deck power, what kind of music you listen to, and what your goals are for sound(good sound, just loud etc).

6x9's & 3.5's are not the right solution either way, but to help you find what is we really need more information

oh sorry.

these will be going in a 2006 magnum sxt. the 3.5 holes are already in the dash and the door speakers are 6x9 so i thought it would be best to put what fits in there. as for the type of music, hip-hop to rock. i want it to be really loud to where the bass will not drown it out, no matter what i decide to go with on the sub end of things. as for the amp i have a hk598 and i would not mind picking up another one if that is needed.

You really should instead take the same budget and just buy some 6.5's for the front.

Right. You'll just need to make some adapter plates to convert the 6x9 to 6.5.

You can use an amplifier to run these speakers.

a simple 2 channnel amp if you go with a component set(passive), or a 4 channel amp if you buy one pair of tweeters and one pair of mids(active).
