A pre-fab box for a loaded BTL15

Recommended Posts

Been away from car audio for a bit and was curious what some others thought about this..... I found a pre-fab box that is made for higher output subs and seems to match up with the requirements for the BTL15. Here's the stats for it.

Brand: AudioEnhancers

Single 15 Inch: Yes

Vented: Yes

Tuned Bandpass: Yes

Includes Terminal Cups: Yes

Fits Round Sub(s): Yes

Constructed With: 1" MDF

Enclosure Volume: 4.87 Cu. Ft

Dimensions: W 34 1/2 H 19 3/4 TD 16 1/2 BD 16 1/2

It's has 83 inches of port area, which equals out to about 17 sq inches per, just a hair more than what the site recommends. It sounds to me like it'll work. What do you guys think. I'll be pushing it with a 2200 watt Soundstream amp in the back of my Tahoe. It'll all be installed professionally so I'm guessing a new battery and alt will be included. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was going to get a prefab when I first ordered my IA Lethal Injection but the guys on here talked me out of it. I'm glad they did. I spent more than I thought I would on a box but it was definately worth it. So glad I did. The box I got compared to the prefab stuff is amazing, I cant believe the difference. I will never get a prefab box again. Just ,my .02

yea the box is about the right size which is great, do u know the tuning? most of the time prefabs are tuned really really high so thats why its almost always better to build ur own box.

i say no prefab box.

look around on the site, there are more than reasonable prices on custom boxes, which will be tuned to exactly what you want. not some mystery number that they can just type and hope to catch someone with. or you can always get some plans drawn out for your sub and you can build one yourself to save some money.

take a serious look at the box builders here. i promise you wont be let down with them :)

Umm, huge problem. They only give the enclosure volume for one of the two parts of the box. If it is truly a bandpass like they state then there is a whole other enclosure they aren't telling you about. Seems really odd...

I was wondering about that. They don't state tuning nor the 2nd part of the box.

i'd rather buy a Sony XPLOD than a Pre-fab box.

Well who wouldn't want some Xplod? That stuff is great. I'm still in a toss up between the BTL and a Xplod 10", since they're both pretty comparable. "elle oh elle"

No don't buy it, not with an Fb of 53Hz. Unless you competing and have done extensive testing and found out that is the exact box you need, and don't expect to play a lot of music and have it sound good with that high of tuning.

And whatever company that is has NO idea on how to post what specs, which means I bet they don't know what they mean either. I wouldn't expect it to deliver anything like it states, including the physical size. It'll be a major fart box if anything although I'd expect it to suck at that as well.
