Am not sure on this so correct me please if am wrong. I currently have a AQ2200 and was wanting to make sure am setting my gains correctly. I want to get as much clean power out of this amp as I can to really push my 15" IA DP. I spoke to the guy at AQ and he said that this amp is around 86% efficient. So just to be on the safe side lets just say its 85%. So 0.85 X 2200 gives us 1870 watts. Am running the amp at 1 ohm so would setting my gain to around 43.0 volts sound right. Oh yea, all my electrical have been upgraded (220 HO alt. extra batt, 2 runs of 0 gauge for the big 3.)confused.gif Does Anyone know if this amp can run at 0.5 ohms, if so what type of power does it produce. Any input would be great.

Thanks guys

85% efficient doesn't mean the amp will put out 85% of rated power. It means it will only output 85% of the power it consumes. So it would actually draw 2588 watts from your electrical system. 2588 * 0.85 = 2200.

Don't run it at .5 ohm unless you want to buy a new one.

If you want to set them correctly you'll use an oscilloscope.

I don't know if DJ told you this but for that amp you will need to set your gain like so:

Turn your gain all the way up on your amp.

Plug your bass knob in and have it all the way down.

Get a test tone CD and put it in.

Turn your H/U volume to the loudest volume you play it at.

Turn the Bass Knob up untill the Clipping LED is a solid color.

Turn the Bass Knob down a LITTLE bit at a time until the Clipping LED is blinking/flashing.

Once that is done put in a CD a rap CD would be best.

Turn the H/U volume to the loudest you play it at.

If the Clipping LED on the Bass Knob blinks/flashes "when the bass hits" then job well done.

If the Clipping LED on the Bass Knob turns to a solid color then you need to turn the Bass Knob down a LITTLE bit until the Clipping LED blinks/flashes.
