first things first

welcome to SSA

the Fi Q will be out when they have tinkered with it and are ready to go.

the Sundown SAZ 1000D would be a very solid choice to go with. I dont know what your electrical upgrades are but i would suggest the big 3 and a volt meter

:wavey5:

They will come out when they are ready, so just be patient (just keep checking the site daily). That amp would work fine with that subwoofer, sets your gains right and bump away.

depends on where your alternator is placed. That can either make it difficult or very easy

im going for a sound quality system not all spl. im planning on running focals in the front and putting the q in a fiberglass box in the trunk. i drive a 98 honda prelude and making this a very clean looking install that sounds good is definately my goal.

sealed enclosure guessing? after just looking at a pic of your engine the alternator looks pretty easy to get to. So it should be relatively easy. just these three steps

alternator to positive side on battery

engine block to neg

and neg to chassis

ok. ill plan on doing that. but for now its one thing at a time. im buying products as i can afford them and then once i have everything i need ill put it all in. but does anyone have any suggestions for a good strong battery to recommend. preferably not mainstream. i like supporting the smaller american companies rather than larger.

and yes a sealed enclosure. a ported would make it way to complicated for my backyard mechanics......lol

Does anyone know the specs for the 2010 Qs? I am interested in getting one when they debut. And also, how much power can u place on stock electrical systems. Currently I am running an 03 pathfinder with a pioneer FH-P800BT and stock Bose speakers. I wanted to add a single 12" Q and amp to power it. Would this be to much power for the stock electrical system?

Nobody knows the specs of the 2010 Q's, will be posted when they are ready for purchase. It is hard to tell how much a stock electrical can handle depends on alternator, battery and other things. That may work fine with your electrical, buy a volt meter and do the Big 3 then go from there.

So im obviously new to FI and SSA. And im pretty much new to car audio as well. On the Q specs, what do all the specs do? Cooling is obviously cooling but why is it add on option? What is P Chamfer? High QTS? Spider? I Heat Ring? im a newbie. lol

Options are explained in the technical section.

Cooling includes a pole chamfer, a pole chamfer plugs the pole vent (on the bottom of the woofer) forcing more air to go around the coils increasing thermal power handling.

Select High QTS if you will run the woofer in a sealed enclosure.

Spider is adding an extra surround to increase mechanical power handling.

I'm not sure why they added an induction ring, to increase thermal power handling possibly?

ok thanks. So optimal settings would be to add it all on? If i just want to run the sub at its standard 1000rms in a ported box do I need to add any of these? what do yall recommend?

If that is truly the case, buy something other than the focals, worry less about the sub and start asking installation questions as that will have a much, much, much greater effect on the SQ in your system.

Read the technical site and see which ones will apply to your application:

SSA Car Audio Forum -> Fi Technical

jay-cee i dont see where you are pointing me to lol. Under FI Technical I saw the Q Enclosure feed but that just mentioned Bp power which was for the older models i believe. Is this where u intended me to look or is there something else there?
