What would you do...

Recommended Posts

So 2 sa-12"s cost virtually the same as a single xcon 12"

my goal is spl, not competition, its gonna be my daily driver, but id like it loud :D

so if space isn't an issue (box with volume up to 5 cubes), which would you do?

Im guessing since the sa's would just have more displacement that they would be my best bet.

your input?

2 Sundown SA series 12"s will have twice the cone and motor! 2.5" voice coil and 600 watts rms. Great woofer, built like a tank and can get plenty loud and still sound good for a daily driver.

XCON has 3" voice coil handles 1750 watts rms and is built like a tank as well. Main design for the XCON is sound quality that can handle a lot of power.

What kind of power are you running?

that's what I was leaning towards then I was checking out the store and saw that 1 xcon would be in the same price range and got me thinking...

Looks like i'll stick to my plans then :P

the dimensions im working with are length 35" width: 14" height: around 18" so a 15" wouldnt fit. looking at a couple hifonics, ill have around 1500watts to play with

I see, go with the 2 SA 12's.

what box volume would you shoot for? I'm thinking about having it tuned to 35hz

C&P

Enclosure Suggestions:

1.75 ft^3 ported tuned to 30 Hz -- F3 of 26 Hz

* Tune higher and use a smaller box for more SPL oriented setup (Use 1 - 1.5 cubes)

* Enclosure can be as big as 2.25 ft^3 with lower power levels

Small problem, the SA-12's are out of stock at the moment. :(

Consider maybe a pair of IA LI's? Shame you are not closer to Phoenix, as Mark is there and you could hear an Xcon in person.

The Incriminator Audio Lethal Injection Series is a great driver. I have a pair of 15" and they are loud and yet very musical and sound great. They will do exactly what your looking for as long as the enclosure is built correctly and amp is set up properly.

I am sure you would love the xcon 12" : so much bass for one driver ! I've never listened to an IA LI or a SA12, so, I can't compare.

I just know the xcon is badass !!!

I love it, and everybody in my town is scared when they make a listen : so much accuracy and so much power from the very LOW notes to 80 Hz.

Friday night it was "jaws dropping time" !!! Nobody dare to say anything, but I could see no one was speaking when I played my system.

It was like "OMG" for everybody. They all have monster spl setups though !!!
