Distro block and wire size problem

Recommended Posts

alright heres the deal,

I just bought a T shaped distro block with an 1/0g input and 2 1/0 outputs. I planned on on running 1/0g to a sundown 50.4 and a sundown 1500 but when i got the 50.4 today the power input looks like the biggest size i can use is 4g. So im wondering what the best way to solve this would be...can i just put 4g wire in the 1/0g output? or would it be better to get a different dblock?

And before i order the 1500 i was wondering if it only accepted 4g max too

the 1500 accepts 1/0. you could either use 4 from the block to the amp, or 1/0 and just trim some of the strands out of it

It will be fine. You can always put smaller wire into a bigger hole. You can also put larger wire into a smaller hole, just have to trim some wires or get an adapter.

^^^^ what the above people said, it is not worth it trying to put 1/0 in a SAX-50.4 and wont make a difference for the amp so 4 gauge will work fine in a 1/0awg hole. That is how I have my distribution block 1/0Awg wire in 1/0AWG hole and 2 4 gauge wires in 1/0AWG holes leaving the distribution blocks going to my amps.
