F150 Lightning build up.

Recommended Posts

Have you replaced the heads on the motor yet?

sorry off topic lol

He hasn't had to do anything other than oil changes since he bought it. Thing is still like new, low miles, and well cared for.

It's more then "needing" to. Lightnings are notorious for their heads being weak.

what?? if its stock, there is no problem at all....

if he had say aftermarket put into it, then yes, such as pulley's, intake, nitrous or such, but a tune could help it out.

pretty sure lightnings had the 8 thread heads too, unlike some of the earlier n/a 5.4 f150's

Thanks.

I try to be humble, but take pride in my work. I make up for my lack of knowledge with determination. Car audio isn't even my strong point.

Nice install, all those little things you done made a big difference and never seen fiberglassing done that way but it looks easier. Any tips on that fiberglassing method would be nice if you had some spare time (you can pm me if you dont want to clutter your build log), thanks.

This method of building pods is also nice IF you don't like the "volcano" look you get from stretching fabric method.peepwall.gif

Thats exactly why I did the pods the way I did. I so tired of seeing all the same tear drop shaped pods. I like to be able to shape things to look more custom fit to the application.

AND you did a beautiful job doing it.biggrin.gif Thanks for showing this method on here, I see it alot on the fiberglass forums but not much over here. I am waiting for the opportunity to use it myself. My dash pods I just made, I used felt (speaker box carpet actually) because it doesn't need stretched and can be somewhat formed and hold its shape.

Keep up the awesome work.smile.gif

Well this is not an update I'm pleased to post but here it is. Truck was destroyed. Somehow my friend survived with a broken arm and lots of bumps and bruises. I was able to salvage all the audio gear from the truck at least.

I was also able to remove the door pods and they were unharmed by the accident so if anybody wants them they are for sale. I don't know what other years and models they fit so thats up to the buyer to sort out. I can get the year of his truck if anybody is interested.

He's doing real good aside from one of his fingers still doesn't fuction properly. One bad finger for that bad of a wreck isn't much to complain about though.

Yes the pods are for sale. I'm not sure what other years or models they will fit though.

I'd like to get $250 for them. There is a lot of work put into them.

they should fit 99-03 (04 heritage and lightning)

thats a bit steep for those pods, thanks anyways though!
