Noise coming from the speakers

this is really wierd. umm

after i hooked up my friends speakers. when it was at my house, there was no noise at all.

but now my friend calls me when he gets home, and he hears this high pitch whistling noise comin from the speakers, but its only at low volumes. When he turns the volume high, the noise goes away and everything is fine.

I'm guessing a ground problem, but there is no noise from the subs and why did it appear when my friend get home?

Or loose wire(s) that moved when the vehicle was in motion. Is it whine while the vehicle is running or does it do it while off as well?

its when the car is running. when the car is off, it sounds fine. whats up with the loose wires? elaborate please?

Yes, wires that may have come loose after installation when the vehicle has been subjected to motion. Also, as for the ground, I make it a POINT to NEVER use a factory ground wire. Always make a dedicated GOOD ground. The factory point is often weak or looped throughout other grounds.

and for the speakers, disconnected as in at the amp, or speaker?

HU ground. As for the wiring, could be anywhere. Gonna have to troubleshoot.

ah i see. its not the HU ground cuz my friends had the same hu for a few months now with no problems.

If they are amp powered:

Disconnect the RCA's from the amp... Noise still there? It is the amp ground that needs to be fixed, or a speaker wire is bad..

If the noise disappears, then you need to fix the HU ground, or have bad RCA's.

If the speakers are deck powered, then only a cpl things could be wrong, speaker cables, or HU ground.

if i disconnect the rca's there wont be any music playing.. oh i getit. it will just be the noise with no music.
