Why not just go with the RF 15"? I don't see why you'd rather spend the same amount of money on a 8" sub as opposed to a perfectly fine 15". It's not like you don't have room in that caprice for a sub that big. You could get the HX2 and build a nice ported box for it and be very satisfied off 1kw. I mean it's all personal preference, but I can just see the 15" outdoing an 8" off 1kw. especially if you're looking for SPL.

Cone size is your friend. What is the biggest box you can fit? Really can't recommend jack without knowing...

im willing to do the whole back seat which i did a rough measurement and without blocking my windows i can go

w-61"

h-26"

d-22" maybe a couple more inches deep without hittin my front seats

i decided to go with the hx2 cause i found a rf 1000.1 for $150 so after buying those i should have enough left to build a box

just let me know how big of box i should build to get the most out of the sub and which way to face the sub and the port and ill post pics of the build

i cant wait!......damn federal needs to deposit

Gee, real easy to help when you don't post ANYTHING about the size of the sub...

If you haven't already bought them, DON'T, you are WAY to jumping the gun and there are a ton of better solutions for your needs...although hearing your needs would help.

Not that I would ever knock Jake or his products, but don't you think you're rushing things? There are a lot of options for under $200, but as m5 said, we can't help too much without knowing what you want from a subwoofer.

In his first post he said SPL, but it would help if we narrowed down just what type of SPL he wants. Do you want a one-note wonder that will put up the best numbers on an SPL meter? Or do you want something as loud as possible while being somewhat listenable? What music or frequencies do you want to play?

Your back seat is 16+ cubic feet, way more than enough for a 15" sub in a ported box. Should only need 5-6 cubes or so. I'd rather have the Sundown than the RF, but that's just my opinion.

just like the title of this thread i want the best bang for the buck. i want a sub that ill be able to feel and that will move some air and get some flex going on.

i have like 24 hrs till my decision dead line. im stuck between the rf power hx2 15. the sundown z15(i heart sundown). or maybe a type r 12 cuz i can get 1 for $100

im depending on u guys to lead me in the loudest most pressure felt direction on a budget of $200 or less for a sub and at most $150 for an amp

its gonna be a daily beater listening to mostly rap hip hop. i want good frequency response while also hitting the hard low bass. like for instance put on by jeezy i would like all the bass notes on that song to sound good and be felt on the lows, or hit real hard on bass i love you or grippin the grain screwd

for me it would be a no-brainer , but I've never been a fan of RF subs besides the TRF (only because of the SPL woofers based on that thing)

any 15 will move more than "some air". Any of the 15s would sound nice playing some "jeezy" and do what you described.

Also if you heart sundown then why not get the sundown. If I hearted something but purchased something else bc it was 100 dollars cheaper or because some one else recommended it I would personally not be satisfied. I would always be thinking about what my heart was set on, and why the heck I didn't get that.... That is just me though. I have never heard the Z-15, but I would take it over the type R any day. again that is just me
