my design so far did i miss anything big?

Recommended Posts

I ordered my First 18in. btl on tuesday and i am ordering my second on friday. In anticipation I got to playing around with some designs.

I am going with a wall build in my trailblazer and i got the front template all cut out perfectly today and threw it into sketchup. Double baffled 3/4in. mdf on the front and double baffle all around for the actual enclosure also " even though it is not shown in sketchup"

After sub displacement it sits at 21.07cf. and no i am not counting the sub braces since i just put those in to see how i would set them since i dont have the actual subs yet.

also i will be throwing in a couple of 45's to help

so am i missing anything big/getting there/ or am i good to go with this

Looks nice.

Hard to say much about it without knowing a few more things. . .

1. how much port area?

2. final net volume with 45's and bracing?

3. port tuning frequency?

4. how much power will you run to each sub?

5. is this for SPL burps or music?

Threaded rod between the drivers to the back wall will be nice. I had (4) 15's with just a 1.5" thick baffle, and a single threaded rod in the center of them to the back wall took all of the flex out.

Well the design isnt 100 percent final, im just trying to figure out how im going to build this wall. after sub displacement,45's, and other bracing i guess it should be around 18cf. it will be tuned to 32hz and its just for music

edit: forgot to add i will be putting an audioque 2200d on each sub at 1 ohm

and, it was around 300+ square inches of port 43.25in x 7in.
