Could you provide some goals maybe? Do you already have the amplifier?

I just want a system that is slightly above the average street beater. Yeah I want it to sound but I'm not that big SQ though. No I don't have the amp yet.

the Q is not for you. take everyones advice and look for a different sub that is not made for SQ. if you want it to be a Fi sub then save up and get the BL. Dont regret making a decision just because you dont have a little patience to save up.

All the options are explained in the Fi Car Audio section under Fi Techinical then BL Enclosure Recommendations. They explain what each option is and what type of a setup it is useful in. This will help explain the BL completely and even give you the box sizes that they have tested and found to be optimal.

check out the "Help Me End My Search!" topic in this forum for suggestions for new subs.

A bit off topic, how much could the Q's handle with the BP power upgrade?

1200-1500 depending on install and application, but they dont need that much power thrown at them (really arent designed for that since there SQ subs).

good to know. I'm going to power two 18" Q's with a Hifonics XX Colossus II that gives about 3200W rms. A bit overpowered but I'll just turn down the gain a little and be careful with the volume button. :)

about the subs, what kind of music do you listen to? Are you planning on using a vented or sealed enclosure?

I went with the Q's becuase I wanted something that has a nice sound to it. Because after all 3000W rms is loud enough IMO no mater what sub/subs you buy. The Q's are kinda like a Bently that drives like a Subaru rally car, best of two worlds, comfort, speed and handling, or in this case: loud and SQ. At least that's my impression after reading reviews and DB results.

For 700-800 you have the option to go with X-cons as well as a few others.

Well is the 7-800 your total budget? Or just for subs? You have alot of other things that can creep up also, like extra batteries, HO alt if needed, wiring, install kits. So what is your budget just for subs? That will help a little more with what you can get, and also you wont need to get the more expensive thing in the world to be better than the local "street beater" And i hate to say this, but someone always has something better. But with any of the 15's on here you should be doing pretty good!!
