Sundown 3500 match up

Recommended Posts

I am going to be purchasing a 3500 in the next week 2 at the most. I was just wondering what would be a better match 4 sa12's or 2 nightshade 12's both boxes will be ported. reason I am asking this will be my first time using sundown equipment so I was just seeking a little advise. I have a 275a alt., 2 svr1500 batt., so I think I will be fine powering it .

What do you mean by better match? What are your goals for this system?

If you have the room to fit those 4-12" SA's then why not look at 2-15" Nightshades, if it came doewn between the two I would do Nightshades but the 4-SA12''s would be a nice install also. It is hard to tell which one is the best, better or whatever other word you could come up with. You will just have to make a compromise and go for one over the other or buy both setups and install them to see.

Depending on what vehicle this is going in, I would go with the 4 SA-12s because they'll push more air. However, if they are going to be cramped in your vehicle, remeber that 2 12s in a properly sized enclosure will be louder than 4 12s in itsy bitsy way too small enclosures. It's all in the install, but you probably know that cause I've seen on your build logs that you are an installer... So yeah, what vehicle is this going in?

Going in the back of a 2001 blazer so I got room I just never have been a big fan of 15's for some reason I have always used 12's on ever build that I have done.So you think the 2 15's would be louder than the 4 12's.Thats what I am looking for is what will give me the most output from what I will be using

The four twelves will still push more air, but there is no reason why properly installed 15s couldn't be louder. Again, it is all in the install. I think the two 15s are cheaper though.

Nevermind. Two 15" Nightshades are pricier than 4 SA-12s

Thanks for the input, like i said the main reason I am asking is just because I haven't had any experience using the subs at all. So I am just trying to get some feed back from you guys, since I know that most of you have probably used sundown equipment or no someone who has.
