how to improve my box

Recommended Posts

Recently someone broke into my truck so i took out everything except the wiring.

so i have my box out and i have never been to do a air trick with the 2 18" bl's in the silverado ext cab :suicide-santa: .

so my question is what can i do to improve the box. my goal is to move lots of air and im not into the numbers TL.

my box is 55X24X24 there outside measurements with no 45s nor nothing just simple with port on the side if i remember correctly its tune to 32htz with 205 of port area

would making pvc ports help alot or what can i do ?

here is a pic of the box

45's, take that huge ass brace out and put an all thread in. more port area, bigger box.

if you don't care about numbers then go sealed, that would be the best way to do a hair trick. ported box will always have an opposing force against the air. sealed box+ lots-o-surface area+ small cabin= MESSED UP HAIR

Double up the front baffle as those woofers are huge! Try firing up! Have the port on the drivers side as far over as it can go. 45 corners would help with air flow. Round all sharp corners around port and box.

So you only care about moving air and not output? Just want to clarify as it isn't quite a goal I understand...not at all saying your goals and mine have to coincide, just seems to be a strange request and want to clarify.

your right like i said earlier i would assume i would only like air and not output :suicide-santa:

i would like to be loud while been able to move lots of air. To move air you have to be tune to 30hz or so thats what i understood.

so my box is 15.6cf with only the box no port or subs. I would like to keep it at 15cf and make an external port in the bottom and i can only have the subs pointing up.

would that be a good idea or is it possible to make 8" pvc pipes to make a 90 degree angle

does that increase or decrease the tuning of the box?

Shouldn't do anything to tuning as long as you keep the same overall length. Same with 45 degree corners, just account for them in your design.

I am not a specialist, not a box builder, but your box seems light for 2 huge 18" subs on 2500 watts.

no double baffle at all, just a little peace of wood for bracing : that can't help you achieve your goals !
