ported box for 15 " ascendant audio chaos

i wanted to know if i could make a ported box with a small trunk. the dimenions are 11 1/2 height, 15 depth, 46 length. thanks

Thats not a trunk. Sounds like a couple shoeboxes. If thats all the room you have, it will be tough.

x2, I would personally shoot for a 12" with that size trunk, plus it will leave you with some more room for other things

Thats not a trunk. Sounds like a couple shoeboxes. If thats all the room you have, it will be tough.

haha i know i hate it. and its a convertible so i cant put it in the back of the car

Why not?

You can port any size driver, I have seen a 6.5" driver ported before.

You are going to want to port that if you want to be able to hear it in your convertible.

You can port any size driver, I have seen a 6.5" driver ported before.

sweet im prob gonna get a 12" earthquake subzero it has a mouting depth of about 7 1/2

It depends on big of a driver you will use, 12" or 15"? The same Choas series?

You can make it work but the enclosure will be very long to get the volume you need with the chaos.

Try plugging in some numbers with this. RE calc. Its not going to be exact and it leaves out the driver displacement but it will give you a good idea of how large it needs to be. Its probably going to be over three feet long.

this is what i got. 35 width, 10 height, box top and bottom depth 14.5, .75 thickness, port height 8.5, port width 1.5, port lenght 12.25, port length 2: 10. the box volume was 1.94 and the frencecy was 25

You will have to flip flop some numbers to get them exactly right. 25hz sounds pretty low to me. A wider port is a good idea as well because 1.5" is a little slim also. I would go about 2-3" on the port width. The enclosure will look really funny and Im not even sure the shape is very optimal. Its possible but...
