J-Roadtatts Honda Accord Build

Recommended Posts

This is my build log for my 1999 Honda Accord. I will be changing out most the equipment I put in a year ago. The system installed now sounds good , But not at the decibel levels I want. So this time around I will be spending alot more on higher end eqipment to do it "better" this time so I am happy when done.

So these are my goals:

Basically better sounding at high volumes

Higher efficiency speakers and subwoofer

Block outside noises and inside rattles

True low end freq repoduction (type-r doesn't hit the very bottom end)

better mid-bass (maybe a 3-way)

Better sounding mid-ranges and tweeters

I must still have a SPARE TIRE

Must still have some useable space left in trunk

Heres the car

I have the MRP-F600 for my fronts and it does good, this way the amps will match nicely.

excellent choice of battery

Thanks. I have a Optima redtop now and it already hates me. So I called Nathan at XS Power(great guy) and he told me what I should buy for my needs. These batterys are not cheap so I didn't want to waste money on more than I needed. These batterys should have a little extra in them for if I add third amp for mid-bass speakers. (or 8" subs upfront)

what's the plan for the box?

The million dollar question.

The box will be 5 cf. net. vol. tuned to 32hz

The box will be 6.31 cf. gross

The port will be 4.5" x 14" x 24" long (63" port area) 1.03 dis.

Sub and bracing .31 cf. dis.

Double baffle

I call the box design "the bottle neck". the front 7" deep of box is 15.5"tall x 32"wide and the back halve of box is 13" deep x 20" tall x 41 wide. This will use the trunk space most efficiently. The box will be built in. I will be using canned expanding foam to "seal the trunk". The Front of the box will look the same as the one I have now. The trunk side will look close to the same but will come back a couple more inches. Should keep the back wall of the box under the rear deck. I hope the back bottom corner of the box still lets me get the spare tire out ??? We will see.

The radio stations Where I live suck, So my wife got me Sirius Module and The KCA-SC100 Interface for the CDA-9886 Head unit for X-mas. I already have The PXA-H100 Digital sound prossesor witch hooks to the head unit thru the AI-Net cable and has the RCA outputs for the amps. The KCA-SC100 also uses the AI-Net cable so they pig -tail in a row. I bought A 15 foot AI-Net cable So I can mount all tree units in the trunk.med_gallery_10399_356_112917.jpg
