New Set up

Recommended Posts

i didnt think you would be able to fit the 15's... happy you arent going to try to cram them into a small area. the 12's should sound better since you will be able to give them the proper room they need.

since you want it to sound good and get loud you should shoot within the 32-36hz range.

what amp were you looking at getting to power these?

i was looking into the SAE1200D? What do you guys think? anything else you would recommend? and sorry for being kinda ignorant but im lost as far as all the add-on's they have available to put on your sub. and if any are really needed for the set-up i have i mind.

that would be a good choice but many people suggest going to the SAZ line because they can be strapped in case you want to go for a larger install in the future. the SAZ1500D could be another option to look at.

if you go into the fi technical section under the topic SSD enclosure recommendations (its pinned so its on the top) it has information of each option that can be added to the SSD and what it does. it also shows the enclosure they recommend having them placed in.

well it depends on what kind of system i plan on running which determines extra battery/ alt/ etc. right? If so with the set up im going for 2 ssd 12's with a SAE1200D. would i need both an extra battery and an alt or would just one of the two be fine? On electrical i dont have a set budget, im willing to do what i have to, to get the car sounding nicee.

an extra battery is probably all it will take, and big 3 as well

and a voltmeter to go along with it so you can always keep an eye on voltage drop

Electrical for an SAE-1200D I would suggest you get a voltmeter to monitor voltage and do the Big 3, depending on your factory alternator size it will determine the rest of that information. It is hard for us to tell you what all you might need since your car may or may not be able to handle it, also what other amps will you be using. Im thinking you may just need an extra battery and thats it.

i have a set of btl 15s and a set of bl 15s. im also using the saz2k. on a term lab i lost dbs using the btls because there wasnt enough power. if u go with 1 btl it'll be good but if u use any other fi sub 2 is a good match

One more thing, if you think size had anything to with it, take a look at the new sa-8. If i remember right they were doing 140s with one driver. Thats insane.

Ok i just meassured my trunk space and i have 33"L x 16"D x 13"H. Now im not sure to go either sealed or ported, I have no experience whatsoever with ported boxes so this will be a new challenge for me. Any Opinions on what i should do with the space that i have, Go ported or sealed? I listen to mostly rap/hip-hop.

Depends on what your goals are and what you want to run, that will determine what you should do. Ported is usually louder than sealed, ported boxes can sound just as good as sealed boxes always but whichever fits your goals will perform well.
