Real SQ tracks, do they exist anymore?? Non mp3 files.

well i didnt notice a difference with some songs but others i did, my radio supports 16 gigs so I have tons of room left. so I might as well get the better version.

Only way to really tell is to do a blind A/B test, otherwise Pyschoacoustics will dominate.

You can tell between two extremes in compression of music but its typically 92kbs compared to 320kbs is a huge difference, but like M5 said without an a/b test you won't be able to tell either way.

Exactly and you won't tell the difference between 320 and flac

One thing about those "some" people. They all have NOT done a blind A/B test otherwise they wouldn't come to that conclusion :)

mp3, mp4,... The problem is in the original recordings as most of you said.

I listen to a lot of dowloaded mp3 songs, and I usually can hear the differences between formats. But not always !!!

Usually I like song in vbr or in 256 minimum.

But even some original cds have very weak recording quality.

Maybe you can look for the recording studios on the albums and decide regarding what studio has been used.

Dunno !

Studio's can make a HUGE difference. Tons of crappy recordings in particular for "popular" music.
