Powerful small footprint amps.

Recommended Posts

I currently have an mb quart dsc 4125 for 2 peerless sls 8's(does 500 x 2 bridged) sundown 100.4(tang bang mids & alpine tweets) and a sundown 3000 for 2 xcon's.

I was doing some measurements in the trunk of my acura tl while laying down deadening and there's no way to fit those 3 amps, 4 cube box, and a big battery so i need smaller footprint amps.

what i need is

1 4 channel that can do 300+ bridged @ 4 ohms(pdx is an option, though i'd like something smaller)

1 4 channel that can do 100-125 x 4 @ 4 ohms(may pick up an arc audio mini)

1 mono amp that can do 3000-3300 @ 1 ohm

You will be able to find a smaller footprint amp for this first two options but for the mono amp I doubt you will find a 3000 or better @ 1ohm with a small footprint.

Anything smaller than the sundown that i can use? I really don't wanna mount it to the box, and it won't fit on the seatback.

Actually I did find you one, spoke to soon:

I mounted mine to the box in the past (and will do in the future) with no problems as along with others on this page. Not trying to persuade you to do it but if you do good bracing and put some foam pads under your amps feet you will be fine (just an option).

I'm gonna try box mounting and see how it goes

i was always told not to box mount due to parts coming loose over time.

Thanks for the link to the stetsom

To me its a personal preference and to each its own, just build a sturdy box and follow the tips in my previous post. You will be good put up a build log when you start the install.

I used rubber grommets and padding under my amp (Sundown SAZ-1500D) when I mounted it to the box (2-Incriminator LI 15's). I had it like that for over a year without any issues and plan on doing the same with the new box for the 4/SA-8's.

I'm having a shop install everything..i'll ask them take pics of the install, though.

I'll take that into consideration.

Expect the shop to butcher the hell out of your active settings.

* I don't see a processor in your list either, you are going to need one.

you should sell your sax100.4 to me. And get the incriminator audio 6.4 4-channel. It has a small footprint and is powerful.
