amp for 15" Fi Audio SSD15 sub

i am getting a 15" Fi Audio SSD15 sub and i am wondering what amp i should get. i dont know if i should get one with 800 rms or 1000 rms. also, what are the best specs for this sub? Also, will i have to do the big 3 or anything else to handle this wattage? i have 98 navigator. thanks!

This could be a good amp. sae1200D Just watch the gains and the volume. X2 on the big 3.

We are only recommending it. The big 3 is such an easy way to boost your electrical.

The "big 3" is not difficult, and it does nothing but help you. I recommend doing it as well.

I do not agree that the SAE 1200D is for you, I say you would be better off with the SAZ 1000D. Just don't get too happy with the volume knob, set your gain and filters correctly, and you'll be in great shape.

The only reason I recommended that was because there isnt any refurb 1000s left. Unless you can find one used frm a member or something.

It's much cheaper to do it yourself, buy some welding wire, terminals, and follow the instructions here: and your done.

No, just measure out how much 1/0 wire you need.

Alternator to positive battery terminal

engine block to chassis

negitive terminal to chassis...thats all, check out Knu Konceptz

No but it is a cheaper upgrade then buying a battery or alternator, and a smart thing to do if you want to keep your vehicle or something for a long time. You should also get a voltmeter to keep an eye on your voltage?

Next time give a budget so someone can help you better and find an amp that fits your needs?

A big 3 does not determine how much voltage you can run, a car's factory system such as alternator and battery will determine that. The Big 3 makes running extra power and accessories easier without slowing down your car's factory electrical system. Since every car is different, nobody can tell you what the general amount of extra watts you can run off of a stock system.
