Ported Vs Sealed

Which enclosure do you prefer and give your reasons for sayin so. Just trying to see who likes what type of enclosure the best. Me i am kinda in between you can get a good all around sound with sealed, given enough power to run push it. I used to use a lot of sealed boxes because I really didnt have the room for ported boxes given the subs i was usin. Now I have switched to ported since subs now work in ported enclosures the size of what the old sealed subs used to work in. Also which one do you think handles ungodly amounts of power better.

I guess I prefer small tight sealed over ported, because it has more life to the music then a sq ported. That a one note wonder just does not do it for me so I lean more towards sealed then ported. Unless it's spl i use a t-line undampened of course or a ported.

it shouldnt matter which one can handle more power because if you look at it that way, you are going down the inefficient path.

Use the power you have wisely.

On a general note, sealed can control a subwoofer better than ported given the proper optimal enclosure comparisons but ported is more efficient.

6th order bandpass designs for spl competitions are very efficient and are very hard to tune and very hard to determine sub stress and may likely kill a sub in such a setup with lots and lots of power.

The topic shouldn't be compared in the open as if everybody should use this box or that box... it's based upon what room you have, the goal and the equipment used.

General topic is ridiculous, it is always driver dependent. If you were discussing what drivers people choose and why for what alignments okay, but just asking what enclosure won't help anyone including yourself. You are going to get a bunch of boner answers that really aren't useful.
