speaker choices

Recommended Posts

Hi, first off i would like to say that all suggestions are welcome and taken into account.

I am looking for new speakers for a set up that i will be beginning very soon. For the speakers, i'm on a budget of around $300 dollars. I'm looking for speakers geared more towards rap/hip-hop, so something that can hit the lows well and has clear, crisp highs. Loudness is always a plus.

I was thinking that a Sundown SAX-100.4D would be able to power most speakers that i would be considering but any suggestions on different amps would be appreciated.

If you need anymore information just let me know.

Thanks in advance.

You want low end, why not get a subwoofer and a good front stage?

First thing you may want to do is "Search" the foum here for recommendations. There are a lot of posts on similar content.

Second is to go out to as many stores in your area to listen and let your ears make the decision for you.

The 100.4 is a great amp!

i would think a sundown audio 125.2 and a dcon 12 would be best this way you got plenty of power with out sending it in to clipping i was looking at the "s4" sub and bridging the amp this way you can use the gain to you advantage by not turning it to max if you had to you could go for a dual 4 ohm dcon and and run it two ohm off one channel it should have enough power on that amp.then if you come in to enough cash when you feel you need a bigger set up add another 12inch d con same configure. like these guys said i would look around on the site see what other suggest for components and come back this way a informed person helps us more. if you think you like it ask around i have seen other site suggest total crap and this one has a lot of good on the money suggestion. the reason for the two channel is this way your subs will have enough power. you can run the components off the head unit if need be if you do i suggest one with a good 5+band eq in it. for sound shaping reasons. this way maybe you can save some dough in the process. till you can get a smaller four channel amp and or another sub and or a bigger amp/ bigger subs this all depends on your goals. any ways welcome to the addiction in other words.
