amp suggestions for fi ssd 12"

Recommended Posts

what is the biggest volume you can get into your trunk? I just did a build for a convertible and its not gone any room at all.

im not sure what the volume is but it is small its about 10-11 inches in height. and how are you liking those 10" ssd's

I love them. They sound great when I want them to and they put up some good numbers when I want them to as well. I am still in a design mode for a new box. But on your box, if you have a lot of room for a box then you wouldn't really need more power but if you don't have enough space then I'd get more power to compensate if you want to get loud.

I think with a smaller sized 10" sub, you would only need about .9-1.5 ft cubed. With a big port area and about 1200 watts you would be better off than not having enough space for the 12" that needs 1.8-2.5 cubes. These are all volumes for ported boxes.

so your going sealed? If sealed then sure, thats fine. The SSD 10s, sealed, only need .2 to .6 cubes each. You have about 1.5 ft cubed if you go with 36w,7h,15d dimensions.

what do you mean?

If he were to do one sub instead of two subs do you know what the dimensions of that box should be.

It depends on what dimension he wants to cut down on and how much. Its not my car so I don't know.

.2 -.6 sealed and .9 - 1.5 ported for one 10

Is that what the OP wanted to know, cause phi said that before.

He probably wants to know which dimensions, length width or depth, to reduce to get down to those volumes but thats all up to him.

its all car and user dependent. I have designed a 10" iXL sub box for a 2002 mustang and it fits perfectly fine through the trunk opening with some room. It is 1.9 cubes gross. But like I said the trunk has plenty of space, its the trunk opening.
