If it is a prefab box then dont do it period. Either find someone on here to build you or help you design one so you can build it yourself, any box built correctly to the subs reccommendations will do well. If you need help with designs, start by giving the max dimensions you have that you want the enclosure to take up (height x width x depth).

i was thinkin about 14" wide x16" high x 30 deep for each box with speaker at the top and a 4"x 12.5" vent an the bottom vent dept 25.25 so it hav 4" from the back

so i guess it will not work for 2 sub wats the smallest can i go for 2 for these sub cause i want to built it in 2 box not one one big box i can go higher than 16 an cant go deeper than 30" so i guess i can only go wider than 14" or may i can only use 2 sub than 4

If you havent bought the subs yet then I suggest you just getting a couple of 15"s and put each one in its own box, unless you can find away for more room.

Yeah your best bet is two subs, you dont want to cramp the subs in small boxes then they wont sound too good; it will just be for looks than performance.

Are those really your max dimensions or is that just the space you are willing to give up, cause dang dude, my saturn has more room than that...

And just a heads-up on the Type Rs: don't go with the manufacturer's specs for the box at all!

They recommend a box that is too small for those subs to really shine, and tuned too high as well.

one of my main reason for the box to be small an built in 2 so i can take them out by my self when wife want to go shop in the jeep (wifey jeep too lol) the nex thing is that my spear wheel is is in their too so i think my max with is like about 32 not too sure dept is like 30 max an under my cargo cover is 16

if i take out the wheel ill get like 40x30x16

wat do i need to work with am a cabinet builter so built the box is no problem is just thedesing an the size

Assuming you'll only end up using 2 subs, and going with your original 14x16x30, and subtracting a 1/2" from each measurement for MDF, (assuming you are using 3/4"), then you will wind up with almost 3 cubes BEFORE ANY DISPLACEMENTS. I don't know how much the subs displace but the port could put you out a whole cube if you tune low enough, leaving you with less than a cube per sub even before driver displacement... What if you decide to go with a double layer baffle on the sub side? Now you're really running out of room. I'd rethink your space or your setup...

Your planned port opening is a tad big too, I would say. Stick between 12-16in square of port opening area per cuft

best options are probably going to have to go sealed to fit all 4 (i calculated, from 16x14x30, 3.9 cubes so this might work with some polyfil), sell the R's and get something else, or tint those windows really dark haha

i vote you try sealed out first, only going to cost you 40 bucks for a piece of mdf. glue and polyfil.

Yes, that is exactly waht hes saying. Polyfill is an insulation like product that makes the driver think the enclosure is bigger than it really is.

If you wanted to follow Alpines specs for a box I supposed you could do it. They recommend 1.3ft^3 @ 36hz after all displacements which seems on the small side.

With that room you'll have to go sealed... Maybe sell the other 2 Rs and buy some security for your ride...

lol i just put in alarm in the ride ok i guess wat all u guys sayin it that for the size boxes i want to built better i just use 2 sub it it well play better than tryin to jam 2 sub in one of those little box? can u give me a little drawin of how i should built the box cause i didnt really want to go sealed anyway

If THAT is what you wanted to do, then you'd never fit that cargo cover thing or whatever it is over it... Also, that box is probably higher than 17"... You can have enough room to do that in your jeep; that is, if you are willing to sacrifice your entire cargo area for subs.

What are the dimensions you are going to use?

If they are the same as before, then no I cannot, because I don't want to tell you how to make a box that will suck.

And by that I mean there will not be enough airspace for those subs to reach their full potential in a ported box.

You could probably get away with a sealed box with those dimensions, but you said you didn't want to do that...
