Would like opinions on enclosure

I posted under another topic but calculated the wrong numbers so here is the updated version. The other post topic is misleading so that is why i posted a second time. This should answer any questions of why i posted another topic. I apologize Admin.

Here are the numbers:

Wedge Enclosure

Width: 43"

Height: 27"

Top Depth: 8"

Bottom Depth: 20"

Total Volume: 7.885 cb.ft.

Port (32Hz)

Internal: 20.0"H X 4.0"W X 24"L

External: 20.75"H X 4.75"W X 24"L

Port Displacement: 1.3689 cu.ft.

Woofer Displacement: 0.38 cu.ft. (2 Fi Q 15s)

Bracing Displacement: 0.1255 cu.ft.

Net Volume: 7.885 - 1.3689 - 0.38 - 0.1255 = 6.0106 cb.ft.

Will this design work for 2 15 Fi Q's? If not, can anyone give me some enclosure ideas? Thanks in advance for your response.

Well, it can work because it is inside the ported enclosure specs. But 6ft3 is almost the minimum. I would build it larger but if thats all the room you have, then try it out.

Agreed. It will work, but larger might be better in this case.

I agree with you both, but these are the max dimensions that I currently have. I maybe able to squeez an inch more in height but thats it. Would it just be better if i used these dimensions for a sealed enclosure? Would I be able to notice the difference in output if I used the seal instead of the ported?

Depends on your goals. In that space you'd probably be better off with a single 18.s

Shit, I wish. lol. But since I already have the 2 15s which is more cone area, I was just trying to see what would be the best setup for those. Havent heard a 18" sub yet those. I have owned subs from 8" to 15" but have not yet seen a 18" sub in person. Sucks I know. My aim for this setup is to get that LOW ground pounding bass that i heard the Q is famous for. The seal enclosure that I had them in got low but not like Ive heard ppl talking about throughout the forum. That is why I want to go with a ported enclosure. Am wanting to see if I can produce that low end bass. Am not really worried about the high end as much.

Nope. Thats all the space that I have. Am planning on putting my amp and battery on one side of the enclosure and i think that i maybe pusing it just a lil bit with the current dimensions. If i used an external port, 7" would be the full length that i could extend it. The enclosure is going behind the seats of a 2000 Dodge Dakota Ext. cab so its kinda tight. Do you have any other design ideas that i might be able to use??

I've decided to go with PVC ports which will give me more box volume.
