Disable Hifonics BXi2610D Logo

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, just wondering how difficult it is to disable the illumination of the logo on these amps.

I don't have one, otherwise It'd be open by now.

Also, is it only the logo that lights up?

I know the 08 series there's LED's as well around the border of the faceplate.

You just have to unplug 2 wires inside the amp. At least that's how the logo was powered on all Hifonics amps that I got my hands on.

Did you consider any other amps if you didn't buy the Hifonics yet ?

It's to power a 12" Fi BTL (dual2) @ 1ohm.

So far, I've looked at:

Hifonics BXi 2610D

Soundstream Rubicon 2500D (Probably my top pick, so far.)

AudioQue 2200D

Uhh, basically anything under $400 that would provide sufficient enough power to move a BTL with some remaining overhead.

Out of the 3 amps you listed, I would go with the AQ. But personally I think the better choice would be the new Sundown Audio SAE-1200D v.2. It is on pre-sale in the Sundown section of this forum. Check it out!

X eleventy billion on the SAE1200 v2. Seems like an awesome amp compared to your other 2 choices since AQ basically = Hifonics.

i think the new SAE 1200 will be nice but i would not take it over a AQ 2200 D when powering a BTL.

yea the 1200 is going at a great price right now. but so is the AQ 2200. how does 349 shipped for 2200 watts sound?

i currently own both AQ and sundown amps and let me tell you that BOTH are nice.

AQ = hifonics? really?

(thats like me saying Sundown basically =audiopipe) and AQ amps are way more reliable then crapsonics products and actually at least do rated and most of the time a little more.

Hey guys, I'm looking at 2000RMS+ to power the BTL.

I'm upgrading from a 12" Fi BL (1000RMS) which was powered by a Tarantula 1500D. That was a very nice combination.

Therefore, the Sundown 1500 is not an option.

Yes, really. Ever looked inside those 2 amps ?

I have, they have the same layout, but do use different components.

the other 2 amps, the AQ and the hifonics are some good choices for the money, and also check out the sundown 2000, it'll cost you. The Mb Quart dsc2000d is also another amp you should look into. how much are you looking to spend?? is the main question.

if so i would love to see the different components between the two, that way we could compare what part is good and what part is not so good, instead of going by hear-say

DB-r sale repaired Sundown amps , you could visit his site and see what he has., AQ 2200 is $349 , i don't know how much the brutus 2600 is, but you can get the MB Quart 2000 for $300 or less, my brother got one for $275 shipped from sonicelectronics. Also if you get a daul 1ohm btl you can also look at the audiopipe 3000, you could also get those for less than $350

As listed about MB Quart 2000, Audioque 2200D, any Sundown Amp or Audiopipe would do the sub some justice. Yeah Hifonics are good amps but if your not getting the top of the line amps I wouldnt get one, since it is under MB Quart in quality and they are the same brand minus well go with the MB Quart. Just pick an amp that is within your budget, the bes thing abou Sundown amps they are underrated and usually do the rated rms at 12 volts while most companies rated rms is at 14.4 volts (if you dont have a steady voltage of 14.4volts, you will never see that rated rms). Just my .02

I not really a fan of amps with lights on them because that is just extra heat that they have to shovel out, but yeah to turn the light off just unplug the wire that controls it.

Noone likes Soundstream?

I thought the Tarantula 1500D was awesome.

I still had a 1/3 turn on it after putting ~1200RMS to a loaded Fi BL.

I e-mailed Soundstream for some internal shots of the RUB1.2500D.

I also asked if the series shares any circuity with any other SS models.

Wish me luck! =P

I've used an amp quite similar to the TRX2000D, pretty satisfied with the performance.
