Finally got the funds!

Recommended Posts

i've looked at the new poles that everyone's been submiting, and it seems to be getting more about "vs." and i know everyone hates those poles, but since i'm really looking into these subs, i just really want to know what to expect and no b.s....

I used to have a 12" punch hx2 (the old ones), i've had solo-baric 12's, and kicker comp 12's, and as far as i know, none of these subs compare to the sq from ss, but i'm wondering if theres a box tuned or built to make these subwoofers absolutely PUND! i know they have good sq, but i'm thinking w/ a 3" voice coil, these things should be louder than any of the speakers listed above

my favorite subwoofer owned was that punch 12. i think that if i would have had 2 it would have been louder than the solo's... any comments on what to expect once i buy the rlp 12's? thanks :D

the ability to get loud like the hx2 with better sq.

hx2's were some of my favorite subs, but i gotta admit, the rl-p's are better. and ur correct, in the right box these things ROCK! i've listened to my single 12" rl-p in 1.25ft^3 sealed (it's permanent home) and my favorite ported box was 2ft^3 tuned to 34hz...loud and low! in both.

it doesn't hurt that mike is the coolest guy in the world to deal with either....

u won't be disappointed with an rl-p, that i'll guarantee!

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

I used to run a blow thru in my old truck with 3 HX2 10's and that by far was my loudest system. I just got my RL-p and while that will never be as loud as 3 10's the gains in SQ was worth the trade. I have mine running sealed as I did not know what to expect and am aiming at a SQ setup, but I am gonna try ported as well just to give it a fair shake and see if I can up the SPL a little while still maintaining the SQ. I just replaced my PG Ti with the SS and while both are aluminum coned the SS has proven itself the clear winner between the 2. Lower, quicker transients, and much cleaner on the bottom octives. Like Mrray13, the HX's ranked up there in my favorites, but this SS kicks their ass in the sq range and in equal multiples in equal ported boxes my bet would be on the SS's. This thing sucks up every bit of 1200 watts in a sealed box and will drive the amp into clipping before I get any type of distortion.
