32 7.5" edesigns....

Recommended Posts

since I own a scion, I frequesnt the scion bbs. Well, this guy (works for or at eDesigns) is putting 32 7.5" eDesigns woofers in the back of his TC. I guess the project just started today...but here are some pics he posted....

This reminda me of the Bose 901 series home speakers...

any thoughts on this set up? I imagine it would get pretty loud.

aside from being overly rediculous..what are the advantages of using 32 7.5" woofers, as opposed to 2-12's..?

...hhhmmmm....maybe I could do, like 16 rl-i 8's in my scion....hmm....

Comes down to cone area. I rode in a car with a wall of 6" JL's, probably 24 or so that hurt me. While one may not go so low it is still trying to produce that bottom octave, a pair and you may hear it, couple 36 drivers together and with the effective cone area, they will go to the bottom octive and pound ya in the midbas region as well. Way back in the 80's Car Stereo Review did an article with a car that had a wall of 4's, does anyone else remember that? Lord, I am really dating myself here. I tried something to that effect with an 87 Isuzu P'Up but lack of budget and knowledge fizzled out that project quick. But your comment on the 901's brought it all back as those were the drivers I was going to use. They use the same theory on coupling small drivers, with the right sized port(s) to bring you an incredible dynamic stage that goes down deep and surrounds you with imaging that won't quit..

a local shop here did a wall of 25 5.25" focal subs..got loud and low..

personally, i think that will look silly. it's more impressive to be loud with one sub then with 32..

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

I would bring up cancelation or proper enclosure size per driver, but I dont want to get into that can of worms

If it were RL-i's then it would be sweet

But eDmo subs...pfftt !

I wonder how much that little project is going to cost

He could just buy idv3 8's and save time. Gonna practically be the same damn woofer. I shouldnt say that I dont know what im talking about :D It does look cool though.

eD may have someitng nice coming up but i doubt it and if they did I still dont care.

It wont be as good as Loyds wall of 8's.
