Danger in having too powerfull Alternator?

Currently i only have a need for an alternator in the low 200's (i'm looking at one at 220) for an 18" Fi BTL. My question is as follows; Is there any harm in buying an alternator that produces more amps then you need?? For example, i will probably put in another BTL in the future and i would like to just buy one 350 alternator now. So if i put a 350 or 320 alternator in my car, which only needs about 220 amps, would it cause any harm to my vehicle? Would it cause harm to my battery? Amplifier?

On a side note, any of you fellas try out the Kinetic HC 3800???

No harm. Think about a standard car with no system modifications. From the factory, the alternator should be able to provide a little more current then what the vehicle is capable of pulling. Then think about the many people that have upgraded alternators, they are rarely pulling full current capacity from their alternator.

I mean, take a look at Steve Meade. Has 1300 amps of charging, and for a few weeks had no extra batts or beat and no video's of his truck blowing up or anything.

I was told from the guy at Excessive Amperage that the alts will not charge unless it needs to. Even if the belt is running it will not be charging if your battery(s) are full. I don't know how it does this but I would take the owners word for it.
