So I just bought a RD 2200.1 on the pre-sale on **** and I wanted to get 2 Alpine type R 15's for it. I think I might be pushing it with these subs because the amp supposedly does 2800 rms @ 14.4 volts and does rated at 10.8 volts!!! Now I have seen some videos of 2 Type R 15's being pushed by a sundown 3K, Autotek MM 3000.1, and even an AB VFL 500.1. Do you guys think I will be o.k with these subs being pushed daily like this. I plan to tune the box to around 30 hz. Also what size box should I make?

They will likely die a horrible death.

Oh, Any recommendations on other subs to get that are 12' or 15'?

So it sounds like you don't want to keep those type r's for very long. After you toast those then you can buy better subs from here!

Don't waste money on toast to get new subs. Get the right subs so you don't waste money. That sounds too redundant. lol.

with that much wattage, you should probably look into a btl... or a couple fully loaded bls

Giant selection in the shop on this website, Incriminator DP's, SSA xcon, Mach5audio SPls or IXL's, or you can go to Fi's website and get the BL. Just depends on your budget and what you want.

What kind of goals do you have? It sounds like you want spl so try 2 15" BTL's or BL's. Maybe a couple nightshades.

I'd dump the amp before the drivers.

What? why these seem like REALLY nice amps. Thats a little severe don't you think?

Nope, far from severe. Actually, I never would have wasted my money on the amp or the company.

YOu could've saved money and the strain on your electrical system and just gone with a 1500 watt amp. You wouldn't even be able to hear the difference.

I suggest two 15" BL's, that amount of power matches up nicely for them. They are also designed to be loud daily drivers that can take a beating. (not abuse, but a beating)

Wut? Im talkin about the comment that Tirefryr said about my amp being shit. Yes, I now know that those type R's wouldn't work. I just want to know why he said that.

Oh, yeah. I forgot all about that comment.

I've got nothing on that. I was just sort of waiting for a possible video of a Type R cone flying away to never be seen again.

Owner of RD has had a bad reputation in the past when it came to customer service! Not sure about now, so cannot really say. I just read about it on another forum.

More than bad customer service. He's shady, business practices are shady, products are well, shady. I'd rather have anything Alpine than anything RD. Hell you could give me all of RD's inventory for free and I would take it all right to the scrap yard.

Isn't that where he basically gets all of his parts from anyways? Just scrounges stuff up.

Yeah, and according to the video, the box was designed by Alpine, and blew on the first note.
