Buy a monoblock. Bridging a 2chan to 1chan causes a certain distortion.

Monoblocks have better powersupplies that can take more beatin. doesnt get as hot, etc.

what is your budget and car audio goals? do you plan to upgrade down the road? do you want to impress a hot chick by showing her your xmax of your sub? lol!!

i would say go mono channel amp for ANY and ALL subs but if you aer on a tight budget go with a multi channel amP! also what is the ciols on the sub? d2 d1 d4? or single 2, 4,?

hey i jsut found some nice pics of your sub!

http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?p=6679127

darn sexy sub! nice!! plsu it can handle 1500rms nice!

well now you need to ask yourself which amp would you get? esspecial an 2 or 4channel amp that can output like 800-1500rms lol the only one i can think of that comes to me off hand is a orion 8002! lol! but good luck finding one of those!

but hey if you did notice there is a pre-sale on sae1200d v2 for 280! is that out of your price range? it is a mono amp and the v1 did 1770rms at 1ohm!!! so stupid amount of power!

but it almsot sounds like you want to get loud and not pay much? any idea of what numbers you wnat to hit? 135-140? more less?

you say you have replaced all the speakers in your truck to what? components? if os have you sound deaden them and amped them yet?

so you got component speakers, sound deadener, component amp? and now you have the sub and need another amp for the sub correct! and your budget is 200-300! so that sae1200 falls right in your price range then! and since you got the money don't wiat! buy it today b/c i think the pre-sale will be ending soon!! so get yours before the prices goes up!! or buy a reburb saz1000d from db-r! if he repairs it comes with a 1year warrenty and there are son many ppl on here who can vouche for his work and how good he is and all the other good stuff!!

http://www.db-r.com/sell/store2/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=65_67_69_80&zenid=6v912oqglnj7e0iqd9sno06j03

or see if he will have any sae1200d v1 availble yet! he is sold out of them right now! but you never know kids fry stuff all the time! lol!!

question what are you using for your components to power them? and how many do you have? just a front stage or a rear stage also?

None of your reasoning is really correct.

As to the original question...a mono amp would generally be more flexible, and generally more efficient and more cost effective. That's in general, not always the case. If you find a 2-channel amp that fits your goals and budget there is nothing wrong with using it.

lol deadener ftw lol!!

all i can say about deadener is make sure the surface is clean as a whistle and don't but it up each piece! either over lap-it or leave a gap! also doulbe it up and beind the speaker (comps) triple it up!!

so 3 layers directly behind the speaker, 2layer above it and if you can fit a third run just do 1 layer! it is what i did and i love it!! they sound awesome!!

well for starters that is a refub one and it only puts out 1200rms! so how reliable do you think the refub is? if it was by db-r then it would be awesome but from someone else can you trust them? hell i would jsut get the sae1200 (at least we know it can output a ton of power check out the specs of the v1 (1770rms)

other thenn that plenty of ppl use hifonics my buddied used one a while ago and well it broke so he got it repaired and it broke again then he got it repiared and the company went bankrupt and stole his amp! lol! o well you win some you lose some eh!

but for sure let other ppl chime in abou them and don't take my word for it.

That amp is only 800 watts RMS. If you want a good Orion 2 channel amp, go back in the old days of the red HCCA and G4 amps. They are underrated by nearly 100% and can go down to 1 ohm bridged.
