we gotta fire the sub forward. thats a given, we need max width for air space.

we gotta have max heigth too.

i used 24.25 so that you have the double baffle.

can you mount the amp under the passenger seat?

max security this way, remove seat to remove amp.

you will have to yank the seats any way to play sub box tetris.

i can get right at 6.5 cubes but does not count for displacement for sub yet.

90 sq. in. of port area. so 15 sq. in. per cube.

tuned at 32.6hz.

oh, and i added .5 to your depth.

no the amp cannot be under the passenger seat. i wish i could hide it that well but its a pretty large amp. top[ og the box is like the only option. i might be able to put it under the box because i have a slight dip where i have to put 2x4's to even out. ill go measure that and im lost with the 24.25 for the double baffle.

chop your going to like this. i went out to my truck today. sqeezed out a couple of inches.

17 Deep

42 wide

24 Tall

But that is max. with the sub being there and the double baffle were prolly going top have to stick with 16. 16.5 is cutting is really close. im afraid my sub is going to hit the center counsel. oh and i could fit the amp under the box but there is only like 1/4 of an inch of cleanance do you think it will over heat?

ok so how does this sound

Height:24

Width:42

Depth:16

Port width:6

Port L1 16.5x14.5

and then no L because with the port 6 inches wide the re calc shows that it is 32 hz. And if you put this in the re calc it you have to do the height for depth and depth for height due to the port being on top.

have you thought about spliting the port into two ports... the vertical port walls would help brace the front wall for the sub.... and yeah, i lost my mind for a sec when i was trying to double the top baffle, oops....lol

i have not looked at the re page to see what these specs give you for your net volume yet, is it at least a little over 5 cubes?

sorry it is my night to cook ( burn) dinner, lol

well no i really havnt because i was always putting the amp on top of the box but i guess i could put it in the middle. and the net volume is 6.28 with that enclosure. how difficult would it be to do that port? and do you think my amp would stay cool under my box?

no diffuculty, just what we been doing, looking at alot of options, zeroing in on what will work best over all.

i would say no, add a couple of fans for a piece of mind..... easy enough......perhaps even a little noen under there too.

basicly you would have two vertical ports firing up, one on each side.

port area stays the same, just the length would be divided in half...

not really competing, so you are not worried about pressurizing where the mic would be located.

main thing i would think this would add is strength to the center of the box.

i mean you have to dig out all the tricks to put a 18" btl in the rear of a s-dime and stay at the window line as well!

some folks use 2/3rds of the rear of a full size suv for the same sub.

lol, but 6+ cubes would be good.
