comp. set help ?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, My Durango has 6.5's upfront with factory 1 inch tweets and 6.5''s in rear. My plan was to put new comp set up front and a midbass spkr, in rear, but after reading some peoples posts they say rear spkrs. won't be heard anyway. Is this true? If so instead of a 4 channel amp do I just run a 2 ch. and wire it to the spkrs and tweets or just the spkrs and run the tweets off the radio? Thanks for your help.

First we gonna need some more information as to what your goals are. But yes most people say ditch the rear fill if your gonna have subwoofers in the trunk and you dont ride with back seat passengers (since when you go to a concert the music comes from in front of you). I ditch my rear feel to let more pressure in from the trunk into the cabin from the subwoofers and worked out perfectly.

I would run that front stage set of speakers to a 2 channel amp, are you gonna stick with regular component speakers or are you trying to go active?

If you get a passive component set you'll want a 2 channel amp, and you can wire both mids and tweets to the amp. With a passive setup the amp goes to the crossover, which then splits the signal to the tweeters and mids.
