Made another 10" Nightshade

Recommended Posts

This is the second one I've made. They are a pain in the butt to do... so I never offered them openly.

Everything is so tight even the tied down leads smack the cone -- so I will likely go in and glue on some felt pads behind the cone.

In any event... here she is :

* Yes, the dust cap JUST fits inside the surround... actually have to pry it out with a screw driver even without glue.

* Terminals come out to the side so I can solder the leads after assembly.

* Big motor on small frame !

I don't really stock many parts to make these... but I may start offering the Z v.2 in 10" a bit later on.

can't you get a different cone/dustcap, and do the tinsel leads a little different for the tens? just not sure how costly it is to order completely new stuff, that motor looks sick on there tho

Looks a bit different than mine. Had a local guy do a recone from a 15 to 10.

my opinion, the subwoofer 10" is typically used only in the SPL.

difficult to use to play with models so constructed. So in my opinion, should build a subwoofer 10", only to have a maximum expression in spl.

therefore expensive models, but that rule many watts and pull very high db

If a customer wants to play with subwoofer 10",

definitely buy 3-4-6 or more subwoofer with low costs, and not 1 or 2 of a more expensive...

then in my opinion, it would be good to create a nightshade v.2 10", or a monster 10 "

I hope you have understood my speech

Jacob,

Nice bro! Bout time I get to see a Nightshade in a 10! Only been asking for a couple yrs. LMAO!!

2 things

1 Felt on the back of the cone does work to eliminate tinsel slap

2 Get rid of the terminals and just do direct leads. :)

Beastly Brotha!!

is it the rubber around the mounting edge thats making it look like that? I can tell it isnt sitting just like the other side, but it doesnt seem like its off enough to make the surround so much higher on one side, almost looks like the cone is in there crooked or something...

the gasket isn't seated right all the way around the sub. that's why it looks funny..

The gasket was made from a 15. I guess he didn't have a 10" gasket. It looks fine otherwise.

yeah, I noticed that it wasnt seated right, I just didnt think it would drop enough to reveal as much of the surround as on the other side.

any vids of this thing?

It did a 141.2 at 51 hz outlaw, on an SAZ-1500. Only saw power to set gain and tweak before that burp. It would do better with a different box and when broken in.
