* How far you want to take it modification-wise ----------- Pretty basic system, speaker and amp.

* Budget -------- Non existent, but not going to overdo it.

* Fabrication skill level ----------- Will be professionally installed.

* Preferred material to be used (i.e. MDF, fibreglass, etc) --------- Sex

* Musical preferences ------ Not sure how this will affect my question.

* Previous products you have used, their installation particulars & likes/dislikes ------------ Hifonics and MTX

* Other products you have heard, but have not owned that you enjoyed & their install particuars. ------- Asked in question.

* System goals -------- Boom Boom

* 2 way (mid/tweet) + sub? 3 way (midbass/midrange/tweet) + sub? --------- Car came stock with great mids and tweets

Even if you keep the electrical stock and end up with a problem needing a dealership for warranty repair, I can guarantee they will more than likely not cover it due to the audio system.

if i have an electrical issue pulling the equipment out shouldn't be a problem, chargers come with battery in trunk so no wiring issues either, rca's can be hidden.

And an alternator can be swapped out just as easily. If you're going to do it, do it right.

so let me rephrase my question

assuming I don't drop the 500ish to get an irragi etc, what amp should i get for my FI BTL 12, when my charger is running 14.5 constant from my alt to my battery in my trunk, with the intention of getting another power cell in the trunk.

what kinda battery is in the back? Can you upgrade that if needed? Also, what size wiring do they have stock for the trunk battery to the alternator? Can you upgrade that if needed for the big 3?

I'd say if you don't want to upgrade your electrical then go with an amp thats about 1000-1200watts and downgrade to the BL. With that power theres no need to go with a more expensive BTL. Trust me Fi subs can take a bit more power than what they are rated for when put in the right box. Can you go larger in sub size? A bigger sub in a large ported box with lower power will get you the BOOM BOOM you want as well. Make sure to have plenty of port area. And make sure the shop knows what they are doing or you can make them tell you the box specs/plans first and post it up on here before letting them make it so we can tell you that its bullshit or not.

id add, that i think he already has the btl and technically the btl would be louder then the bl if all else is the same.

Well, I am cheap so I wouldn't dish out the extra money for a sub that I don't have enough power to let it shine or put it to work. :D But if he already has it or if he wants it then so be it. As its his money and his set-up. Just my opinion.

Except even if you compare the BTL with any other Fi sub at only 1000w it will still be the loudest.

Stock electrical is your limiting factor. I wouldn't really go above 1kW unless you beef it up and a battery isn't what I call beefing it up.

looking through here, one could assume that you are wanting to stay cheap, staying cheap is fine, having the basics is part of it though.

while there is no top end in this hobby, there is a base for how things work.

your vehicle does 14.4 regular as it stands because it is designed to do exactly that.....

usually there is even a little head room to spare for additional amprege needs.

to push a BTL nicely, (applying my interpretation of BOOM BOOM here), you will need a larger amplifier.

the Sundowns are very kind to your electrical system, however, depending on your choice of what size amp you will run, your electrical requirements will increase.

this increase is a need, just make sure that you apply the right combo of electrical gear to answer these needs.

If warranty issues are of a concern, i am by far the worse guy to give advice, the entire rear portion iof our truck is in the alley for trash pick-up...lol

there are several ways to provide a good supply of amps.....some more invasive than others,

read up on it and see what you feel is a good start.

since opions are welcomed here,

i think that you should look into the SAZ-2000D to push your BTL, while upgrading your rear battery in factory location and installing a second one as well.

this will limit your upgrads all to the trunk of your car, so if it does gotta come out, at least it is all just right there...

would a big three done by the dealership keep the warranty?

How about a upgraded battery in the factory location?

could not imagine the price for that but just curious how it works...

chop
