12" fi bl

Recommended Posts

im getting a fully loaded fi bl 12" and i planned on getting a hifonics brutus 1600, or if i get a little more money im going to get the Rockford fosgate t-1500. i dont know shit about wiring amps and. i know almost everything about the basics of car audio. but i was wonder how would i run that Bl 12" at 1 ohm. my friend said i would need a second sub to run the amp at 1 ohm. but he confused me because the amp is a mono channel amp so i dont need to add another sub right? both those amps can be at 1 ohm stable. how do you change (ohm's) ?

dont listen to your friend. the woofer is dual voice coils, so you can wire a dual 2 ohm woofer down to 1 ohm. the hifonics amp should be sufficient. get a dual 2 ohm sub when you order it.

to wire an amp you need a power wire, ground wire, and remote wire, rca cable from headunit to amp, and speaker wire. but before anyone gets into the details of what goes where and how.... are you planning on upgrading your big 3 and/or adding a 2nd deep cycle battery?

your going to need at the least 4gauge..maybe even 1/0gauge depending on the amp

For speaker/ground/power look in Knu Konceptz

i have wired amps before so i know all about that shit. and thanks for the dual 2 ohm comment, i will do that. i also want to know what you guys think about the RF t1500 amp? i know that hifonics will do just fine. but do you think that fully loaded bl 12' would take that RF 1500 at 1 ohm? because thats alot of watts and its a better sounding amp, so do you think the sub can take the power and do you think its worth the money over the hifonics?

THE T-1500 IS WORTH THE MONEY!!

I have it on my BL it puts out 1800 WRMS at 1 ohm. just an amazing amplifier. The sub handles it like a champ as well. this combo is very impressive IMO. Go to ebay and you can get one for about 450$ great amp. but you could probly get a sundown 1500 for that price as well some where.....

Get the RF if you have the funds. The BL will take it fine if you're good on the gain setting

So how exactly does one get to 'know all about that shit' in 50 minutes? Your posts seem to contradict themselves.

I'm sorry, but you do not know 'about everything about the basics of car audio' if you do not know how to wire an amp nor how to wire voice coils.

If you are not sure on something, by all means please ask the question and we will be happy to help you get straightened out and pointed in the right direction. Please, don't act like you possess knowledge you don't have though, its unbecoming of oneself.
