Hello everyone I want to get your opinions on wich to go with. The sub will be in 1.25 sealed powered with 1500 watts. I listen to all music however lean more towards rap. Looking for a loud """SQL""" setup. Is there really that much difference between the two?

If you want it loud and you listen to alot of rap why dont you go ported? Both subs can be ported and sound great

Well I already have a custom box made and I perfer sealed myself. It is going in a trunk of a miata so the ported box sizes cant fit and yes I know that I am fighting a losing battle being in a convertible but it will have to do for now.

Aaron or Mark have never pushed their product hard on anyone. They always try to get the users goals down and then help them make the best decision that will best suit them.

Mainly my goal is a loud ""SQL"" system for my daily driver wich is going into the trunk of the miata. I know not the best platform for sq however it is what I have to work with. The car is completly damplified out and the is holes coming from the trunk into the cabin behind the seats and behind the headrest that I put there to allow bass to reach the cabin. The front stage is hybrid audio clarus 62-1 components ran from a JL 300/2 amp. The box is 1.2 cu ft and is firing up towards the trunk lid.

I promised myself that I would never point this out but,

perhaps I will only mention, that a little game of hide and seek would in fact stir up that exact "acronym" in some of our manufactures pages, from them! lol

ron82nd, i am personally, completly out of loud SQ conversations, but if you find a fellar that goes by ///M5 on here, now he will plumb you right up on which way to go.

If I had to guess, I would ventur to say in a convertable, a really mean front stage would be your path to happiness, certainly considering SQ is at hand.

Just curious, any pics of a Miata's door panels, kick panels, trunk?

yeah if you are into the same rap that i am, you will miss some of those,' popular to the style', notes..........1.2 cubes w/unknown power does not feel like it will deliver what you are looking for.

perhaps if you are a handy man, read up on designing a enclosure a little more suited for your needs, these guys will get you hooked up right.

I am guessing that one sheet of mdf and some build materials will set you back $40 bucks, + or - a few bucks, add that to your new sub purchase and the thought of designing and building your own enclosure, priceless!

No such thing as underpowered, that Xcon will be powered quite well on 1500 rms.

since you listen to other genres beside rap i vote sealed xcon
