BL 15 Enclosure help!

Recommended Posts

Whats up everyone.

I'm new to this site and im looking for some help with my box build.

I just got a Fi Bl 15 dual 1 fully loaded and i am wondering what dimensions i should use to get the most slap outta this sub. I went to RE Audio and used there box calculator and came up with: W: 38" H: 18" D: 17.5"... Port width: 4" port Length 12.75. Second port length: 16"....with 4.2 cu ft. in total for volume. Box is Tuned to: 31.63 hz

Does that sound alright?

Also im buying a Hifonics BXi 2010D to power the BL so id be giving it 2000 watts. Is that to much?

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

welcome to the site.

here are the recommended specs for a ported box for that sub:

BL 15 – Ported box we recommend using 2.8-4 cubic feet @ 28-37Hz. Again use 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume.

This sub is recommended to be used at Rms: 1000W, so why would you be pushing 2k to it? Will this be used daily or spl? If you want to use this for a daily driver, I recommend pushing no more than 1300W to it. But then again, I'm not a guru either.

A full 2000 watts is too much for a BL, but you can dial back the gain to appropriate power levels for the sub.

You say port width 4", I assume that's a 4" wide by 16.5" tall port? And then it's total 32" long. I get about 4 cubes net tuned to 34 hz. If you want 32 hz, extend the port about 6 more inches along the back wall, from 16 to 22" for that piece.

Thanks man. Im on the calculator page and i gave it another 6" along the back wall and it says the tuned frequency is 30.45. How did u get 32?
