My new box

Recommended Posts

Some of the mods that I am willing to try is to round the angle inside the box with a piece of pvc pipe and round the corners to have a smooth air flow out the port.

Play around with the head rests and fold down the visors. If you have a sunroof, try and figure out a way to seal that bitch off. Read the rules for the competition (might be able to just tape the sunroof from leakage. How is that bracing in that box? Is that a single baffle? What are you using to achieve these numbers (music or tones? burps at full tilt or unclipped? ohm load?)

I fold my front passenger seat down and it is almost like a ramp to the sensor. I also have my visors parallel to the windshield and I angle my rearview mirror toward the sensor. Another thing I do even though it is uncomfortable as hell is I move my driver's seat as close to the steering wheel and lean it forward. I also found out through testing that my glovebox actually hurts my score being open. It is a single baffle. This box is very sturdy and as far as I can tell, there is no flex at all on the box. I use a 55hz test tone at about half volume to get that score. My amp is wired at half ohm.

You need to test all different tones in your car to find the sweet spot. Your car has a natural peak. You need to test for that peak. To do this you can make a sealed enclosure for 1 of those subs and test the db level at a relatively low volume. This will give you the natural peak in your car. Now put the ported enclosure back into your car and blast it at that frequency. You might want to try tuning to that frequency as well.

Also try charging the battery overnight or however many batteries you have =)

I mean if all else fails you could always just clip the shit out of your amps :ehh:
