Not as loud as it used to be?

Recommended Posts

Ok.. I have a FI BTL 18 and a Rockford Fosgate T30001bd amp. I have all 1/0awg wire big 3 and a kinetik 1400 in the back. So when i first hooked everything up it was SUPER loud.. but for some reason when i like park somewhere and shut it off then go to get in to show someone it is not even close to as loud as it was.. Does anyone have any ideas. My only idea is because i only have a kinetik 1400 in the back so its not enough power? And sometimes when i turn it up it will start pounding and the will start to cut out. I was wondering if anyone else would know what the problem would be.

sounds like a low voltage problem to me.. do you have a volt meter so you can watch your voltage?

the way i see it is voltage is an easy way to see really whats going on with your cells... its not only the voltage your worried about amps rating and storage is a HUGE part . its safe to think that with low voltage surly comes low amps... so check it out.. a bad cell up front when only having a 2 cell type system can be like swimming with one arm.

So are you saying maybe if i recharge my battery upfront it should make a difference i was thinking that it was low voltage i just dont have an agm charger for the kinetik. and now that i live on my own its kinda hard to buy stuff right now. the only volt meter i have is the stock one.. ill put my dmm on my battery and turn it up and see how low it gets.

How big is the fuse?

Ok now with that out of the way, KEEP THE SHIT OFF FOR AWHILE AND RUNNING BEFORE COMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let the Alt. build up the amperage to send down to both batts to keep them charged and FULLY juiced for the burps!!!!

Charge ur batteries, and measure voltage when its playing.

my sub is 350W RMS only and i have a 76ah battery, and its killing it when car is not running.

I think your voltage is dropping too low to feed amplifiers.

Where is your amp mounted?

My BL 18 does the same thing because i have a kicker 1200.1 and when i have it cranked it turns the bass boost nob.

the kicker kx and zx series both had issues with all the knobs turning--that's part of why the design got changed. people who compete just put clear packing tape over the knobs to keep them in place.

It always seems to me that my btl 18 does the same thing. But then I get into it the next day and the process starts all over again. :)

In my case, I guess I just get used to it.... or deaf to it.

It could be a number of reasons: your getting used to it, low voltage since you dont have the adequate batteries to back it up, certain songs arent recorded at the same level, etc. You cant ride around blasting your music at real high volumes 24/7 because eventually you will get used to it or your ears just seem not to work to well for about an hour after bumping(i noticed that happens to me sometims, seems like my ears are popped or something).

Do you guys think that a kinetik 1800 under the hood and a kinetik 2400 in the back would be enough?

It should be but nobody really know's for sure, your best bet is to install it and get a voltmeter and watch your voltage.
