No rear fill and leave it open to allow the mass to get through, I run Eminence Alpha-6C(6.5") and will be getting some tweeters and Mach 5 Audio midbass(6.5") real soon.

It may be difficult to believe(!) But you would be amazed of the sound quality without rear speakers.

Some of my friends tried and they were happy to do it, some.did not like it!

The front speakers seems more clear, and the bass sounds better in fact.

That is only what I felt when I did so.

Maybe you will not like it! Try and tell us !

If you want sound quality you'd be amazed what you can do with rear fill. Let me define something for you though...rear fill does not equate to full range speakers in the rear of your vehicle. Maintaining stereo speakers in the rear will never equate to the application of fill. Instead of me talking...here's a quick synopsis:

Quick summation for PROPER fill application

If these techniques aren't used then it's not "fill"

Correct Application of Rear Fill

To get back on topic I should add that if you're looking to budget you can find some PPI 355cs for ~$100. They're great speakers for the price and based on the 346is from a/d/s/. The 346is are the same speakers used for Orion's HCCA line up in the late 90's. I've heard they're a bit weak with mid-bass so you'd probably wanna find a sub that can player lower...possibly 125hz to 200hz. I run a 12db slope@200hz to keep panel buzz to a minimum. It works great with the sub choice I made and very transparent. It sounds like all the bass is coming from my components in the front.

If you want cheaper...you'd probably need to find raw drivers. Partsexpress.com and Madisound.com
