Which Two 12"s on 3kw daily in 4 cu. net ported

Recommended Posts

Looking for a 12" sub that can handle 1500w daily like champ and be fine in a slightly smaller ported enclosure tuned in the lows 30's.

Looking for mainly SPL right now. This is just for daily, no competitions will take place.

Looking to keep the price under $700 for the pair if possible. Need to buy them new.

12" XCON? 12' Nightshade? 12" BTL? 12" HW? I like good customer service and subs that have good information available about optimal enclosure sizes.

I'm a little worried about the BL's handling 1500w each being in a relatively small ported enclosure (4cu. net). I'd be more comfortable running XCON's because I wouldn't need to worry about them getting the power, but also they are about 150 bucks more shipped total which is quite a chunk of cash if it won't be a very noticeable difference in output. I'm preferring 50/50 SPL/SQ so I think the XCON is a better fit for my needs, but the pricing on it is just a lot more than the BL and I'm not even sure if I'd notice that big of a difference.

Is there a common agreement that the BL's with cooling and flatwind will handle 1500w each for daily?

Well a friend of mine had two BL's on a crunch gp3000d pro and hey handled the power well. Yes as long as you get all the options you'll be fine. But if you have money go with the XCONs they are very nice drivers as well I was going on your budget..
