Are AudioQue amps any good?

Recommended Posts

I was planning on getting two of these for the 2 BTL 12s Im getting but I looked at the pix and I didnt really notice any fans, does that mean I have to be weary of over heating? Ive had problems with amps doin that before. Also would it have a pretty good or just eh sound quality? Id be using it in a daily set up so yea.

AudioQue in general is known for best bang for your buck. It's known to put out rated power. I currently own a 12" AQ HDC3 and played it in a prefab box and it sounded great and loud. Now I need to finish my custom box to really get it bangin'

But those amps should do good,

my opinion-

If an amp needs a fan, then the heatsink it's in isn't good enough and WILL overheat.

An amp designed without a fan and has been out for a while with no heat issues is in a good heatsink.

WRONG. You should really step back and look at some historical amps. As an example the PG ti series have fans and DON'T overheat. On top of that they are 1000x the amp that the AQ budget amps are.

Selling AQ as a bang for the buck brand amuses me. They are cheap. If you are cheap then you should buy used and not a budget amp.

The AQ 2200 is a great amp. I have it running two 15 Q's with BP power and never even felt it get warm. And I use it daily.

Nothing wrong with budget amps...

AQ has proven their track record with their amps, very reliable just as other brands.

I only like fanless amps because if the fan fails... gotta send it in for service. Fans don't last forever. Hopefully, the thermal protection circuit still works if that happens.
