fi btl and audioque hdc3

Recommended Posts

what are the fi btl and the audioque hdc3 comparable to? Im thinkin about buying ethier two 15in btls or 2 15in hdc3s, right know i have 2 15in kicker L5s ran off a memphis pr1.1000.1 in a prefabed box i love the way it sounds but im looking for more bass, i have a 1991 cadillac deville, so hopefully i can fit either 2 15in btls of the hdc3, because the web site says the btls require a minimum of 3 cubes ported to each woofer but I AM A try for 5 cubes each, the amp i wanna get to run the woofers is the AQ3500d. But even if i wanted to get two 12s of the FIs or the Audioques would they be louder then my 2 15s i got now???????? thanx guys

The aq hdc3 15's will work well with the aq3500 but for 2 btls you will need something stronger. At least 4000 watts. With that being said.

What kind of elictrical upgrades have you done or planing to do? You will need at least 6 cubes after port and sub displacement... Right now I'm running 1 btl 15 and it's pretty loud.. So if you can't get two 15's to fit.. maybe go for 1 18? You want a sub in The right enclosure to perform well.

And it will be much louder and sound better IMO

you could probably get more output by adding a little more power to the subs you currently have, instead of 1000 watts.

I love my AudioQue Hdc15's. I have them in my trunk being powered by an American Bass 400.1 And im hitting a 147.2 @38hz. And my electrical is crap, drop to 11.6's. You will Not regret buying them if you go with them, i feel they're the best bang for the buck.

x 2

You could build a custom ported box to let the subs express themselves totally !!

I learn from experience, that the box is very very very important for the sound of your subs.

These Kicker can handle 750 watts rms each, so you could try a 1500 watts amp (like the Sundown saz 1500 d).

The first step would be the box.

just my 02cts!

I would get a better box built for the 2-kicker's and go buy a 2000rms amp(for future upgrades in case you do plan on going BTL or HDC3 route in the future) and get a DMM to set your gains to 1500rms or so, it never hurts to have headroom. This will be the cheapest route and probably lead you in good results instead of buying two new subs and amps right now.

Ditch the pre-fab box and build your own with proper specs and tuning to your woofer and see how well you like it then. Your amp should be adequate with what you got now.

If upgrading to either the AQ or BTL, expect to spend $$$ on electrical upgrades and a higher output amplifier to get those woofers working.
