what 2-15" on a saz3500d

Recommended Posts

i have a 3500d and was wondering what would be better in all aspects and sheer output? would the BTL's fully loaded or nightshades be better in my situation. either choice will have box build big enough due to it going in an suv and tuned between 30-35hz might change what i tune it too, but it is for a daily set up. and if anyone wannts to throw in opinions about the xcon or ia death penalty feel free. electrical is 250h/o alt, with 3 batteries including the one under the hood. subs will be facing up with port back. port will be running along the bottom instead of right or left side.

What kind of music do you listen to ?

BTL and Xcon are not made for the same goal. What are you looking for?

You have enogh power for 2 Xcon : that setup should be great (for me! I don't know if it would be good for you!!).

I can't tell you nothing on the Nightshades : never heared them.

Anyway, it seems that you're going to be LOUD !!!

Good luck

If you goal is pure output, the BTL's will be an excellent choice. The Nightshades and Death Penalties are also very capable, very high output drivers. The Xcon is meant for a little different listening. Can you give us more info on goals and system and budget to help you make a well informed decision?

my goal is high output, dont like using spl and i dont really have a budget, i think i took care of most of my expenses. i have saz 3500d, saz 100.4, 3 way components, h/o alt, and 3 total batteries. big 3, and all the wiring, box i will build when the time comes, i really only need subs and tons of dynamat, which i get at my work half off. i have all this stuff sitting in my garage waiting to be installed, i have been putting everything together over the last year in a half. i listen to all types of music from metal to rap, im sure my lady wants to listen to britney spears and my daughter like hanna montana, j/k i would say 70% rap and 30% metal and miscellaneous. i have pioneer 900bt unit but when i finish this set up in jan or feb i might switch it for a eclipse 7" screen unit with 8 volt preout. i think my screen is 5.6". just curious i have my batteries on top of mdf but will they mess up if i put them on my cement floor in my garage they have been sitting there for about 6 months on the wood.

No experience with the Mach 5 other than reading user submitted reviews....

The Nightshade and Death Penalty have been proven winners in the SPL lanes and sound good for daily applications.

It's all box and install dependant.

Yeah you dont want to put batteries on straight concrete because it might slowly drain them, leave them on the mdf and they will be fine.

Fi BL or BTL = sound pretty good and can get very loud.

I have never listened to a niteshade, but since it's already in your sig, roll with it and let us know how you like it.

:drink40:

Edit to add, I have 15" Xcons and I love them and the 3500D would be perfect for them, but was not sure that is what is right for you and a SPL goal.

If you want a good sounding sub that gets loud get the xcons. The bl fully loaded should get the job done. No need for the btl really. The bl is a little bit better spl and a little bit less sq than the xcons. I have heard great things about IA subs but have no experience with them or knowledge about them.

If pure output is the goal, the Fi BL, Mach5 SPL, Sundown Nightshade, and IA DP's are all great suggestions. THe Mach5 gets overlooked often and it is a very good driver especially for the money.

i like the nightshades and death penalty, but there is some thing about the 1750 rms that the xcons have that would be perfect for the 3500d. i know i wont be able to hear the difference of 250 watts but ilike they will hit the low note clearly. really undecided.
