Mobile Dynamics Car and Audio School?!?!?

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to find a good school for mobile audio installation, fabrication, and such. I found this website about this school www.mobiledynamics.com based in Arizona. I know nothing about this school and can not find any feedback from people that have gone there. If anyone knows anything about it please, let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,

I cruised by the one in tempe/mesa about 10 years ago when I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life.

The guys were very cool and informative. Tho program seemed pretty solid.

I think that they offer a good solid foundation that will help you get an entry level position at most hack shops.

From there it is going to come down to imagination and real world application. Get enough cars under your belt, and be fast & creative and you will get a good job.

I would not however expect that a certificate from MD would get you in to a good shop making great pay, unless you have the skills to begine with.

Worth it for a quick jump start though.

Ok, well i think that i may go in another direction. Though a quick jump would be great, but the money and a reputable shop sounds much better. Thank you for the advice and information ;)

i actually went to that school, it was very fun and helpful. the first six weeks are car audio which goes through general audio, alarms and fiber glassing. the second part was home theater the books they give you are very helpful. my work paid for me to go to the school, thats why i chose it. i live in cali so i posted up in a hotel. to learn its a good school, if you just need to get mecp certified and thats it then i would go some where cheaper. they show ypu how to properly build a box and go through diff. kinds of boxes. if you are going to get a better knowledge about car audio it is a good place to go.

Yeah i read that they went through enclosure building and home theater and glassing. I want to learn to do all of those things in addition to what I already know about stereo from experience. My only hesitation would be the fact that most busineses want to see a Bach degree, or more. and i have yet to find a college that will hand out bachelors degrees for mobile audio dynamics. lol. I WISH!!! -_- I am a firm believer that if you do what you love you will never work a day in your life. but also i have to be able to support my family. since you graduated from that school, how are you doing financially if you dont mind me asking? good wages, good market?

i work at bestbuy install bay, i make 15.00 an hour not much, but what i do there is alot of repetition, about three deck everyday, and one amp install covers about a six hour shift. then we have alarms which we block the whole day off. before any one hires you you need experience. there are not going to hire you right out of school, plus you still wont know enough knowledge after school. but where i make my money is my side jobs. once you know your fiberglassing and box making you can have fun, but you have to realize people dont know how much money goes into fiber glassing, and dont go through with it after they hear the price of material and labor. ive done a couple of cars just for knowledge purposes didn't even charge them labor just materials and it was still expensive for them. along with my 40 hours of work. but after showing there cars off i was able to get clientel. now i just have business cards and do it out of my garage. eventually i will open my own business too, but im goin to graduate soon with my bachelors, but i will do all the business part of the job and just hire skilled labors to work for me and then ill do a car every once and awhile.

Yeah does sound like a lot of repetition and busy days. Not a bad thing by any means for me anyways. Tho I can see how it may be hard right off the go. Since i would just be getting out of that school. I deffinately would love to get into fiberglassing and box building. Ok so big question. Was it worth it to go to this school? in hind site would you have still gone? and would you recomend this school to me or others?

yes it was worth it, i learned alot of hands on stuff, i would recomend it, plus you meet alot of audio heads, and plus you get what you put into it. plus the home theater stuff you learn is awesome. remember i didn't pay for the school. if i had to drop money i think i still would go. being MECP Certified is good if you job wants you to have it, but it still only proves you can take test not take a car apart. remember out of an hour radio install 40 minutes is dedicted to taking the car apart and putting it back together 15 min putting the radio and harness together and 5 min of planning where you start before you do anything. once you do a car alot you can do a car fast. for example in a comepetion at work i did a 03 sierra in 11:15 min/sec. its pretty easy.

Thank you for all the info! I do appreciate all of it. I at first was hesitant about the school but it does sound like a great school overall. I think that I may invest in this school so i can get deeper into mobile and home audio. again thnx ;)
