Held me design! 12'' BTL Enclosure...

Recommended Posts

Hello there! So a couple months ago I reconed my 12'' fully loaded (older-model) BTL. Before, it lived in one of Pete's Team Toxic Enclosures...but due to the possibility that it may have blown because of the complexity of the enclosure...I want to design a more simple one with the same dimensions of the previous. Problem is, I do not know how to design one.

The dimensions would be 20 by 30 by 14. I would like it to be tuned at 32 hz.

If someone could please point me towards a thread with the same specs, or design one for me. I would be very greatful. The sooner I could have this figured out, the sooner I can build the box and install the subwoofer.

Thank you.

P.S. : This was the last enclosure...

A subwoofer isn't going to fail from being in a "too complex" enclosure. It either blew thermally from too much power or mechanically from over excursion(which if you set your subsonic filter correctly isn't a problem).

i could probably whip something up for you if you'd like.

Yes, please.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. But I didn't give it too much power (2300 rms), and my subsonic filter was set correctly. And this is what Nick recommended...so I wanna give it a try.

If anyone else is willing to give this a shot, I would greatly appreciate it.

You know the BTL is rated at 2,000 watts? 2,300 is overpowering and it does damage the sub over time.
