Placing amp

this forum is alot better to get answers from. so i was wondering where sould i put the amp? on teh sub box? or on the carpet under my back seat in the van? does it matter? and should i look to get a CAP?. i have a 130AMp alternator and a Die hard Gold battery, and the amp is a 1200 concept. with 2 gauge wiring and the fuse i dont know what size? either to choose

ok would 150 or 200 work aswell? and are all the ANL fuses teh same size? cause i really dont want to get another fuse holder. RCA cables make a big difference?

RCA cables wont make a big difference but you might notice a cleaner signal if you get some nice sheilded ones

200A would be fine as well since the current carrying capacity of most 2ga. wire is 225A. As yes, all ANL's are the same size.

Get decent RCA's, but don't be retarded and buy Monster Cable. Knu stuff is about as expensive as I would get.

Now you should know better.

The current rating on wire will decrease as length increases. Your best bet is to go with some 1/0 as this will be more than adequate and provide a solid base for upgrade. This cable can easily be found online for a hair over a dollar/foot. As far as fusing goes, NEVER go over the manufacturer's suggested fuse rating. This is just asking for trouble. Most fuses need 150-200% their capacity to blow. Keep in mind, they will not blow instantly either.

the amp cant have 0/1 connected i am gona trim the 2 gauge alittle to fit. so 150 or 175 will do. ok

You can run the 1/0 into a distrobution block. Get the 1/0 from weldingsupply.com and you'll still be spending less than buying 2 guage. Then youcan use whatever wire you want from the fuse block and still have everything you need if you ever want to expand. Use the manufacturer's fuse rating and nothing else.

well i have 14 feet of 0/1 gauge and i have 18 of the 2 gauge so it dosnet matter i just need the Fuse to be right. so it dont go POP

Sorry to jack your thread here netherland, but had a quick question. For 2000 watts would i be better of with 0/1 or 2gauge cable? The amp says it has a 2 gauge power connector.
