Oh no, not another enclosure thread...

Recommended Posts

So, I ordered 2 SSD 12's last week, (currently have 2 Pioneer 307's in a ported box I made a while back) I was just wondering how to make a decent ported box for the new subs. Car is a 97 eclipse, and the dimensions I got were (15h x 36w x 20d inches) I might be able to go .5in more on the height and depth. Would the height of the port be 13.5in? What should the length and width be? I'm using BassBox 6 Pro but when I put in the info for the port it adds to the total volume of the enclosure which for some reason makes me think it is going to come out wrong when I build it. Any help will be appreciated. I'll be powering them with a RF P1200.2

Thanks.

Would this work? 15h x 36w x 20d (all measurements are in inches and external) with a port of 13.5h x 3w x (14.8 or 19.8) length would that make it 2.1 cu.ft per sub tuned to 33hz? would you guys recommend any other size port? or should this be good enough?

4.1 cubic feet with 40.5 square inches of cone area(you need a minimum of 48 square inches) tuned to 32 hz.

The specs you had were off a little bit if you want a box tuned to 33Hz, I did one on a Box Tuning Calculator and here are the results:

Sub Displacement = 0.28ft^3 / Port Volume = 0.96ft^3

(External) = 15"H x 36"W x 20"D

(Port) = 13.5"H x 3.75"W x 21"L / 50.63in^2 (Port Area Range = 45-60in^2)

3.75ft^3 @ 32.89 Hz

1.875ft^3 per sub
