Rear-Firing in Single Cab?

Has anybody had any experience with Rear-Firing in Single Cab?

I plan on doing this or downfiring. The only problem with downfiring is the max bottom depth I can do is 12.5" so the 12" sub will be on the surface of the wood just barely. I'm worried it might not be enough support because that will leave about 1/2" on both sides of the Sub Hole.

(Where ever the sub will be, it will at least have 2 baffles.)

How in the world do you have 12.5" behind the seat in a single cab? Are you 4 feet tall? At any rate, front firing is generally the best solution in a single cab.

rear-firing doesn't work well.. you'll lose a ton of output. best off front firing or down firing.... I don't know how you'll manage to down-fire a 12

No sir I'm not. I'm 5 Ft. 10 In. Tall. And it's not 12.5" Top & Bottom Depth. Top depth is like 6.5" or 6" bottom depth is 12.5". And I still fit comfortably. (Pics Below)

Here is somewhat of design. (There will not be an upfiring slot port, it will be a 6" aero firing out the side.)

P.S.- If I do Forward Firing then I'll have to to a Fiberglass Base to gain some Cu. Ft. over the darn Hump.

I cut out a piece of cardboard that was 21" Wide X 12.5" Length/Depth. This is still a comfortable position. Way better than my 10" box. So my only question is do you guys think the Sub will be supported good enough with double baffle?

What sub is going in there? Double baffle will be plenty. Honestly I don't even see that much of a need for more than one. Since you only have 12.5" total width, chances are pretty good that some of the screws holding the sub into the baffle are going to go through a vertical wall as well. Plus it's not such a huge baffle with a 30 lb. sub sitting in the middle of it to sag it down.
