Buying new setup next week...a few questions

Recommended Posts

Thanks for all the help guys. I really appreciate it!

I'm gonna go with two 12" SSDs. And I'm going to do the big 3 and get 1/0 gauge wiring for the amp.

I found a Hifonics BXi-2006D amp on ebay for $250, with a 3-year warranty. Would that be the best for the money? Or would I be better off with less watts from a better brand? I don't really want to spend more than that on an amp.

Should be fine, mine worked well for the price.

Thanks!

Do you(or anybody) think it's worth it to pay $38 more for the BXi-2010D, which is this years model? New, as opposed to a refurbished BXi-2006D.

Thats how I buy my car audio equipment brand new(not like I dont trust refubished items because I bought two kicker cvx 12"s used from Hifisoundconnection and didnt have a problem with them at all for over a year playing at .5 ohms), I would pay that extra $40 for my piece of mind. just my .02

you keep brushing the big 3 off, you should do that before you worry about the deep bassor set up, because what happens to the amp when it doesn't get enough power from the battery, it doesn't hit the bass correctly and stress the amp, along messes up the longevity of the amp.

just wana to throw an option out there. 18" ssd w/ a better amp like sundown or even a kicker. cone area of an 18 is more then 2 12s. power handling would be lower but would allow you to buy a more reliable amp. install dependent of course...

edit: it looks like u may have made the order but u could change it i may have changed your mind. but the 2 12s would be great aswell. i just cringe when ppl buy hifonic..

good luck with your build, anything will be better then mtx ROFL
